The Gardens of Palais Royal

Originally residence of Cardinal Richelieu in the 17th century, the Palais Royal is a palace and associated gardens located in the 1st district of Paris. It is just in front the Louvre Museum west wing and next to the Comedie Française. The gardens are surrounded by stone arcades under which you can shop for antiques or trendy shoes and bags. Chateau and garden of Bagatelle – Paris 75016

Created in the 18th century at the heart of the Bois de Boulogne, the beautiful Parc de Bagatelle is laid out in the Anglo-Chinese style. The 24-hectare park is landscaped in a determinedly romantic fashion and features charmingly bucolic scenes with waterfalls, grottoes, little bridges and a Chinese pagoda, and includes a world renowned rose garden showcasing 1200 different species. The Bagatelle Castle was built in just 64 days at the end of the XVIIth century by the Count of Artois following a bet with Marie-Antoinette.

Arenes de Luteces – PARIS 75005

The Arènes de Lutèce are the only surviving ruins of the Roman conquest of Paris (formerly known as Lutetia), along with the remains of the public baths at Cluny. This amphitheatre once seated over 15,000 people. Probably built in the first century AD, it fell into ruin in the third century AD and was rebuilt in the 6th century. The remains were discovered during various excavations in the area in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
