Some of our readers love steak tartare … So we have investigated to find select establishments in Paris where you can enjoy this amazing dish! The decision, of course, should not prove to be too exhausting.
Located in the hear of the 14th arrondissement, rue des Plantes: Le Sévero. Here the chef, William, is a former butcher. Thus, we do not question the origin of the meat and the wine list contains more than 200 options! Expect € 18 for the house tartare and fries!
On the other end of Paris, in the 6th arrondissement, Boulevard du Montparnasse, the mythical Rotonde is also a nice place to enjoy a tartare for € 19. Here, the meat has all been approved by Hugo Desnoyer.
An address in the 1st arrondissement at Les Halles: Le Louchébem. Not meant for vegetarians! Indeed, here the meat is prepared in all its forms and in most all of its dishes. Here you can enjoy a tartare at a very good value: € 13.20.
Remain in the 1st district, and you can visit Le Castiglione serves a great tartare with Poilane bread for € 19.
Les Tontons is located in the 14th and the 15th arrondissements! That’s right, two addresses, same owners. Here they prepare the tartare in all its forms with all the sauces! Great for enjoying a starter, main course and even dessert, a formula + dessert will cost just € 20. There’s a small token (maybe manzana) offered in the restaurant of the 15th if you say you came from the restaurant in the 14th!
Finally, in the 16th arrondissement, you can find l’Aéro, where they offer a proper steak tartare for just € 14.50. Note that the same owner possesses most restaurants at Place du Tertre in Montmartre.
There are also a few addresses where it is worth stopping for lunch, especially if you like steak tartare at a great value for the money.
The first is a small bistro in the Marais: La chaise au plafond, rue du Trésor (corner of rue Vieille du Temple) in the 4th arrondissement of Paris. We recommend this place for its breakfast tartare or for enjoying a drink on the terrace overlooking a small pedestrian street. The second is at the bottom of l’avenue Hoche in the 8th arrondissement, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, le Do Ré Mi. Here you can enjoy a great steak tartare. Expect about € 15 at each of these two addresses).
